Our dental office is equipped with the latest, most reliable technology in our field, including our cone beam CT scanner, digital impression system, and soft tissue laser. Not only do these instruments help streamline each of your visits, but they also allow our team at iSmile Dental Arts to thoroughly examine your mouth, making sure that no stone goes left unturned and plan out detailed treatments to address any issues we may find. You can learn more about some of the gadgets that we use in our dental office by reading below.

Digital X-Rays

Dental treatment chair

In the past, dentists would use film X-rays to be able to see the area of the mouth located below the gumline. This method of imaging was time consuming due to the need to develop the images, and it didn’t produce clear pictures that led to accurate diagnoses all the time. Today, our team uses digital X-ray imaging, which works in a similar way to a digital camera. We’ll take the picture, and within a second, it will be visible to our dentists on a large, chairside monitor.

Intraoral Camera

Dentist using intraoral camera to capture images

Our intraoral cameras are small, handheld devices that we can maneuver around your mouth to see hard-to-reach nooks and crannies. The camera on the end of the wand allows us to capture still images and video footage that we can project onto a large, chairside monitor. This allows us to walk you through any oral health issues that we find with a visual education component to our explanation, as well as better explain how our recommended treatment plan will address the issue.

Cone Beam CT Scanner

Patient receiving cone beam C T scanner x-rays

Our cone beam CT scanner is a neat device that helps us plan and conduct thorough advanced treatments and diagnoses, like with dental implant procedures and TMJ therapies. In just 30 seconds, it can capture a detailed, 3D, panoramic blueprint of your entire facial structure, allowing us to see the jaw joints, dentition, sinuses, and even facial nerves.

Digital Impression System

Dentist examining digital impressions

Have you ever needed to have a putty impression taken to get a dental crown or mouthguard crafted? Not only can this method of getting impressions be uncomfortable, but it’s also not always accurate. Our digital impression system doesn’t require your mouth to be completely dry to capture a detailed blueprint of teeth or your mouth to create perfectly-fitted oral appliances and restorations.

Soft Tissue Laser Dentistry

Patient receiving soft tissue laser dentistry treatment

The soft tissue laser is a neat device that emits a concentrated beam of light out of the tip of it. We can use it to bust harmful oral bacteria and treat gum disease or remove overgrown or damaged soft tissue. It cauterizes the area on-contact and eliminates the need to use a scalpel or sutures in certain treatments.

Cavity Detection System

Early cavity detection system

Certain types of cavities, like those that are located between the teeth, are difficult to spot with the naked eye, similar to decay that’s in its earliest stages of development. Fortunately, with our cavity detection system, we’re able to effortlessly spot even the smallest cavities, allowing us to treat them before they have a chance to cause any serious damage to your grin.
