For dentures on the lower jaw, implant-retained dentures are particularly beneficial because standard dentures are more likely to slip.<\/p>\n

Implant-retained dentures have a metal undercarriage that securely attached to dental implants. The undercarriage is either bar- or ball-retained. Bar-retained dentures have a thin metal bar under the base, while ball-retained dentures have sockets that attach to ball-shaped connectors on the implants.<\/p>\n

Qualified candidates for implant-retained dentures have disease-free gums, excellent oral hygiene and good bone density in the jaw.<\/p>\n
